Emirates’ 233-strong fleet is one of the youngest in the skies, now serving 144 destinations in 81 countries on six continents. In November 2014, Emirates SkyCargo took delivery of its twelfth Boeing 777F, bringing its fleet to 14 freighters (two Boeing 747-400ERF and twelve 777Fs). Scheduled freighter services now operate to 47 destinations in 39 countries.
Over the next few years, the airline will welcome 279 aircraft to its fleet, thirty-five Boeing 777-8Xs, one hundred and fifteen Boeing 777-9Xs, one Boeing 777F, forty-eight Boeing 777-300ERs and eighty Airbus A380-800s. The total value of aircraft now on its order books is US$138 billion.
In the 2013-14 financial year, Emirates SkyCargo carried 2.3 million tonnes of cargo including mail and courier across its network, contributing 15 per cent – US$3.1 billion – of the airline’s total transport revenue.
